Location and surroundings

Waterland Lodge is situated in the centre of Holland. It is also in the centre of an organic area where the products grow and are produced on a organic way. In the near vicinity of Waterland there are different walking- and cycling tracks through woody and open area's.

The forest 'Zuigerplasbos' is at walking distance and offers a fine impression of the natural development of the woods in this new polder (upper left picture). The famous 'Oostvaardersplassen' are also certainly worth visiting (bottom left picture). Nature-lovers will love this national park. You can watch the different birds, follow an excursion or just make a nice walk. For a walk on the beach, you can go to the beach of the 'IJsselmeer'.

At walking distance there is an information centre about the organic area and a snug tea-room. You can easily combine this with a nice walk through the area. Waterland Lodge is also within acceptable distance of a number of tourist-attractions and big cities. For example the theme park Six Flags, outlet center Batavia Stad and the Dolfinarium where you can see dolphins and different kind of fishes. You can visit big cities like Amsterdam, Utrecht, Zwolle, but also The Hague easily by car or by train.
